The park is located in the middle reach of the Vorona river on the territory of Kirsanovo and Inzhavino districts. The vegetation of the reserve hasn’t been studied completely. The geobotanical studies show the presence of about 600 species of vascular plants which make about 2/3 of all the flaura of the vascular plants. In general, the discovered vegetation of the reserve makes 60% of the potential flaura.
The natural park contains the typical flaura of the southern forest-steppe. Different species of animals have been studied unevenly. The fauna of vertebrates has been studied in details. At present, more than 29 species of fish, 7 species of amphibia, 6 species of reptiles, 126 species of birds, 26 species of mammals are found in the reservation. There is also a number of rare species: Ukrainian lamprey, Volga nase, zanthe, Nikolsky viper, white-tailed sea eagle, muskrat.
A number of rare arthropods was detected on the territory of the reserve. Among them there are Argiope spider, dragonflies, European mantid, machaon, polixena, carpenter bee, bumblebees etc.
