Aseyev’s Arzhenka estate is the most famous out of the preserved old country estates of Tambov province. Arzhenka was built in the beginning of the 20th century by the famous Tambov manufacturer Vasily Aseyev. Back in the day the estate was comprised by the park, mews, stables, water tower, outhouses. The luxurious palace-like house ruled over the whole estate. It was built in 1906 by Lev Kekushev, the fashionable Moscow architect. The rich décor of both exterior and interior of the house looked staggering.
The estate survived through the hardships of nationalization and civil war. During the Soviet times it changed its owners and purpose multiple times and declined completely by this time. Not only interior but decorative elements of the facade and even construction parts of the building were destroyed.
At present the reconstruction is coming to an end. The snow-white palace has been finally restored. Painting works in the interior have also been completed. The facade of the mansion has been decorated with elements of various styles including art nouveau, some traits of classicism and gothic details. The exterior is now rich in moulding, decorative flowerpots and artistic forging. The estate is ready to welcome its guests.
